At the end of each Kalpa are peepholes in which the Demi-fiend must look into to be given more information about his nature by the Old Man and the Lady in Black.

Amala comes from the Sanskrit word amara, meaning "immortal". According to Shin Megami Tensei Demons Bible, it is an allusion to the palace of the god Indra.[1]
