Terminals, also referred to as "Space Transfer Device Terminal Computers"[a][1], are a recurring mechanic in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Overview

Terminals are used to save the game and teleport the player to different locations.

Mechanics by Game

Digital Devil Saga series

There are three types of Terminals. Small Terminals allow the party to save, acquire Mantras and teleport to Large Terminals. Life Terminals allow the party to pay to recover HP (Macca1 per 1 HP) and MP (Macca3 per 1 MP). Large Terminals combine the functions of Small and Life Terminals and are located in rooms that house them.

The Kyūyaku Megami Tensei version of Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei II features Terminal devices, replacing Checkman.

Shin Megami Tensei V

Shin Megami Tensei V features Terminals modeled after Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne's amala drums. They function identically to the game's Leyline Founts, which perform the mechanics associated with Terminals.
