Profile
Akira is a student of Karukozaka High School, Class 2-C. He is a playable character only available after beating the game once.
- He uses ore (おれ) in hiragana to refer to himself at first in the SFC version, but after fusing with amon he uses ore (オレ) in katakana.
- In the PlayStation version, he starts out with ore (俺) in kanji and switches to the katakana version after fusing with Amon.
- He calls the Protagonist temee (てめえ) at first but starts calling them by omae (おまえ) later on.

Akira initially appears trying to escape the school, but his efforts are thwarted by the disciplinary committee members that block off all the school's exits. He later disappears, leaving only the janitor to wonder what happened to him. In Yumi's route ending, it's noted he's still missing. After the game is beaten once, the Protagonist, after taking all the available equipment on the first floor and speaking to the disciplinary committees member on the far east side of the second floor, can go to the corner on the west side of the floor and find Akira. Akira, having discovered a way to escape the school, offers to partner up with the protagonist and escape together. If they agree to the offer, they are locked onto Akira's route. The two end up in the Tower of Confinement, but they are quickly ambushed by Hazama, who fatally injures Akira, though he is saved by the demon Amon, who possesses him. The Protagonist and the now-demonic Akira then start climbing the tower, meeting demons or fighting them as they continue their climb. They also restore more of Amon's power inside Akira after they defeat Mammon, who had parts of Amon's power in him. When they reach the the topmost floor of the tower, they slay Hazama despite him being stronger than the other times he is fought with other partners. Akira then takes his place as the new Deity Emperor and, because that he and Amon are now as one being, stays there while returning the protagonist to the human world whether they agree to it or not, however the school remains in the Makai.
The the text crawl plays and says Hazama was defeated. The school and several students went missing. It was officially reported as a gas leak explosion, and there was an uproar about it for a while but it was eventually forgotten. It's pondered if Hazama was truly defeated, and then mentioned if the boundary between the worlds collapsed again, the Deity Emperor could return. Anyone aware of this had no hope for the future. It ends: "if..."
