Design

Orpheus Telos appears identical to Orpheus but with a different color scheme. It has been recolored to have a red body with golden and white highlights. Its hair is blonde, similar to Messiah.

In Persona 3 Portable, despite the initial Orpheus having an altered design for the female protagonist's route, Orpheus Telos retains its design regardless of the player character.

Trivia

  • In Persona 5 Royal, in between the data for newly added DLC Personas not present in the original Persona 5, there are unused Persona entries named "Orpheus Telos" and "Orpheus Telos Picaro" alongside "Psyche" and "Psyche Picaro", indicating they may have been intended as additional DLC Personas at some point. Aside from the names, these Persona entries lack any other unique data.

Nomenclature

Telos (Greek: τέλος, romanized télos) is an Ancient Greek word which means "end", "result", or "perfection". While fitting with Orpheus's origin in Greek mythology, this originates with the English localization. The terminology used in Japanese is kai, literally "reform" or "improve", which is also used as a suffix with a similar meaning to "modified/revised edition". This naming pattern is the same as is used for the "Prime" Personas in Persona 2: Innocent Sin.
