The Inaba PD is the work place of Ryotaro Dojima and Tohru Adachi. The protagonist and Yosuke Hanamura get brought there on April 17th after Yosuke gets caught waving weapons around in the Junes food court. Dojima lets the boys go, but they overhear something about Yukiko Amagi and then ask Adachi about Yukiko.
Throughout the year, the members of the Investigation Team have run-ins with the Inaba PD. Starting from April, Dojima and Adachi are involved in the investigation into Mayumi Yamano and Saki Konishi's deaths. During Golden Week, Dojima has to call off his family outing with the protagonist and Nanako due to a robbery at a bank where an ATM machine was stolen. The Inaba PD also gets involved when Rise comes to town. Dojima has a hunch about Rise being targeted, and the Investigation Team spots Adachi outside of the store, claiming to be directing traffic due to how short staffed they are. After Naoto Shirogane becomes a collaborator in the police's investigation in hunting down the murderer, the Investigation Team also begin seeing Naoto around Inaba and at school. When Naoto is kidnapped and thrown into the TV, they rely on an officer in the Central Shopping District to find out more info about Naoto. In Chie's Social Link, officers are looking into recent extortion incidents. This plotline continues in Kanji's Social Link where the officers assume Kanji is related to the extortion group, and also into Dojima's Social Link where he seemingly captures members of the group near the Samegawa Flood Plain.

On November 5th, Dojima catches the protagonist reading a threatening letter at the Dojima Residence. He immediately assumes the protagonist is involved in something dangerous and brings him to the police station and holds him in a room. The protagonist catches Nanako Dojima on the Midnight Channel broadcast in his holding room but is unable to do anything. Eventually, the entire Investigation Team converges at the police station. Dojima takes off by himself to find Nanako. After Naoto and the protagonist work out that the kidnapper must be a delivery truck driver, Adachi allows the protagonist to leave.

Persona 4 Golden
In Golden, Kanami Mashita was supposed to come to Inaba and become the Honorary Police Chief for a day. But due to Naoto's disappearance, the police force canceled the event.
During Adachi's Social Link, the protagonist finds out what other kind of work the Inaba PD does: Despite being a detective, Adachi goes around Inaba doing things like getting cats out of trees and mediating marital disputes. The Inaba PD is also the setting for the game's new bad ending connected to Adachi.

If the protagonist has the Jester Social Link at rank 8, he will think back on the time he spent with Adachi and can choose to protect him instead of naming him as the culprit on December 5th. Before the protagonist leaves Inaba, he can also choose to visit Adachi at the police station. There, the protagonist tells Adachi that he is on his side. Adachi brings the protagonist the 2nd threatening letter sent to the Dojima house and tells the protagonist to prove it by burning it.
- End of spoilers.
