Hanako Ohtani is a character in Persona 4. She is a 2nd year student at Yasogami High School.

Hanako is a 2nd year student at Yasogami High School. She is extremely confident in herself and interprets interactions with male students to be them taking a romantic interest in her.

On June 17th, Hanako appears during the school camping trip. After Chie Satonaka and Yukiko Amagi's disaster curry, their group has nothing to eat, and Yosuke Hanamura tries to ask Hanako if she would be willing to share her large plate of curry. Hanako refuses, saying that she is on a diet right now. At night time, Hanako, Chie, and Yukiko are grouped together in a tent, but Hanako's loud snoring prevents Chie and Yukiko from falling asleep. In the boys tent, Yosuke goads Kanji Tatsumi into running into the girls tent. It is unknown what happens when Kanji barges into the girls' tent, but Chie and Yukiko leave him there with Hanako.

During the Yasogami High School cultural festival in October, Hanako takes part in the beauty pageant and loses to Naoto Shirogane. Her and Noriko Kashiwagi are depressed about their loss and spend the night at the Amagi Inn together. At night, Yosuke, Kanji, Teddie, and the protagonist accidentally sneak into their bedroom, and the two women assume the group of boys are interested in them. In the hot spring, Yukiko mentions that the two are quite close and come to the inn to cry when they feel sad.

If the protagonist aces a school exam, there is a chance he can find a love letter in his shoe box. If he receives one at any point during the school year, then on March 20th, he can go to the classroom and discover that Hanako is his secret admirer.

Persona 4 Golden

On June 15th, the protagonist, Yosuke, and Kanji go to Okina to try and pick up girls. They are unsuccessful, but Yosuke's last hope is a phone number that a woman gave him. It turns out that she gave him Hanako's phone number instead, and Hanako appears shortly after and tries to ride on the back of Yosuke's scooter, but ends up breaking it. Hanako tells him that he needs to do better if he hopes to date her. During the June camping trip, Yosuke will bring up that Hanako owes him for breaking his scooter before asking her if she is willing to share her curry.

Before the fireworks festival on August 30th, the protagonist learns from Yosuke that Teddie tried to talk to girls gathered for the fireworks and accidentally attracted the attention of Hanako. Even when he put on his bear suit, it did not deter her, and she dragged him off somewhere.
