"Sunset for a Demonnapper" is a Challenge Quest in Shin Megami Tensei IV.

Overview

This quest can be randomly obtained while Scouting Demons in Ikebukuro if the Challenge Quest "Capture The Berserker" has been completed.

If Flynn enters Kishimojin Temple while the quest is active, Hariti will be found panicking over her missing son, Priyankara. She assumes that the Buddha is angry with her, but as she has not eaten any children in some time, she is not sure why. Wu Kong then appears, informing her that the Buddha would not do such a thing, and passes along a message stating that her son is being held captive in Ikebukuro. Before Hariti can rush to his aid, Wu Kong suggests that she should ask Flynn for his help, then leaves. Hariti then apologizes for losing control of herself and asks Flynn to help her find her son. Before they leave for Ikebukuro, she sprinkles a perfume that only Demons can smell on him, since Priyankara will recognize the scent.

When Flynn enters a room on the west side of Ikebukuro Station's east entrance, he encounters a starving man who immediately denies that there are any children there. If Flynn chooses not to leave, a boy appears and begs for his mother. Another emaciated man realizes he has escaped. The boy declares that he is Prince Priyankara and, recognizing the scent of pomegranates on Flynn, realizes he must be working with his mother. Priyankara then hides behind Flynn, and the starving man decides to summon his master, Kanseiteikun, to deal with him. The Demon is annoyed to be called upon by the men again, but attacks Flynn regardless.

During the battle, Priyankara participates as a guest in Flynn's party. Kanseiteikun is accompanied by the two Hungry Men, who attack Priyankara. Priyankara will not fight back, however, if he runs out of HP, the fight ends and the quest must be restarted.

Once Kanseiteikun is defeated, Flynn is given the choice to either make the men pay or let them go. This choice has the following effect on Flynn's Alignment:

Regardless of Flynn's choice, Hariti reunites with her son, and the quest is completed. Hariti also becomes available via Fusion, and Kanseiteikun becomes available via Fusion Accident.
