Mega-CD

The Mega-CD, known in North America as the SEGA CD, is a CD add on peripheral for the SEGA Mega Drive developed by SEGA that was released on December 12, 1991 in Japan, October 15, 1992 in North America and mid spring to early autumn 1993 in other regions.
The Mega-CD could play Disc based games as well as Audio CDs. It had an extra processor and RAM increasing the power of the Mega Drive. The format could support redbook CD audio within games, and was one of the earlier home consoles to be able to output clear legible vocals.
The only Megami Tensei game released on the platform was Shin Megami Tensei on February 25, 1994, which was the first Megami Tensei game released on a SEGA console. This version has not received a fan translation.
