Nezha is a Chinese folk deity and literary figure. He has his origins in the yaksha Nalakubara of Buddhism, but he was significantly reimagined over time. The most famous account of Nezha can be found in the Investiture of the Gods by Xu Zhonglin.

In Buddhism, Nalakubara is a son of Vaishravana (also known as Kubera). The Nezha of later Chinese folklore is the son of a general named Li Jing.

Design

Nezha Taizi's Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers design is inspired by Astro Boy. He has the Chinese character 蓮 (lotus) on his chest, representing a part of Nezha's story where he is revived with a new body made of lotus roots. Additionally, his pink and green colors come from the lotus.

Nezha's Shin Megami Tensei: Demons Bible and Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon design features mechanical teeth like those of Frankie from Shin Megami Tensei II, and he wields a Headhunter.
