Masayuki Doi (土居 政之, Doi Masayuki) is an artist involved with the Megami Tensei franchise. He currently serves as the main character and demon designer for the Shin Megami Tensei series.

Biography

Early Life

He started drawing in elementary school by following his friends. He copied drawings of Kinnikuman, Saint Seiya, and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. In middle school, he used to draw his own characters from TRPGs like Dungeons & Dragons and Record of Lodoss War. After entering a fashion design school, he became interested in Computer Graphics, bought a computer to study it, and joined Atlus.[1]

Career

Doi started his career at Atlus by coloring in-game portraits for Persona 2: Innocent Sin, as well as designing item illustrations and card designs.[2] He started doing background design for Shin Megami Tensei III and character design for Trauma Center: Second Opinion.[1] The last time he worked on background design was for Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey.[3]
