Hypnos is the Greek god and personification of sleep. His name is the origin of the word hypnosis. He is a son of Nyx. In some accounts, Erebus is his father, and in others Nyx alone bore him with no father. Thanatos is his twin brother, and they lived together in Hades.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux	Hypnos is the Greek god of sleep. He is the son of Nyx, goddess of the night, and is depicted as a young man. He dwells in the underworld where no light reaches, sleeping on his bed with his sons, Oneroi, the embodiment of dreams. He is told to be a generous god, granting peaceful sleep to those in need. Even the gods were affected by his powers: not even Zeus was able to resist falling asleep.
