Hypnos is the Greek god and personification of sleep. His name is the origin of the word hypnosis. He is a son of Nyx. In some accounts, Erebus is his father, and in others Nyx alone bore him with no father. Thanatos is his twin brother, and they lived together in Tartarus.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux

Hypnos is the Greek god of sleep. He is the son of Nyx, goddess of the night, and is depicted as a young man. He dwells in the underworld where no light reaches, sleeping on his bed with his sons, Oneroi, the embodiment of dreams. He is told to be a generous god, granting peaceful sleep to those in need. Even the gods were affected by his powers: not even Zeus was able to resist falling asleep.

Kaneko Kazuma Dennō Akuma Zukan 夜の神ニュクスの子で死の神タナトスの双子の兄弟とされる眠りの神。醜いタナトスと対比されることが多く、耳のうしろに翼がある美しい容姿で描かれる。1000人の子がいるとされ、その多くが夢に関する神である。ヒュプノスは、木の枝や角から流れでる液を使って他者を眠りに誘うという。
