Aether
Aether is a mechanic and item in Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2.
Overview
Aether is a resource required to perform Awakening. Awakening unlocks a Demon's Archetype Skill and grants a small increase to its base stats.
Several types of Aether exist, each corresponding to a specific alignment. These materials can primarily be obtained from Strange Signal quests.
Types

Each type is available in multiple sizes and is used by different Demons depending on their Awakening requirements. Event and collaboration Demons may require special Awakening materials instead of the standard Aether types.
Collaboration Aether
Collaboration demons, primarily crossover event demons, use a special Aether that is independent of the normal race alignment system.

Aether Sizes

Aether comes in three sizes: S, M, and L.
Different demons require different sizes and amounts of Aether. Depending on the demon, S, M, and L Aether may be needed in varying quantities.
Higher-grade demons often require larger amounts of Aether.
Aether Conversion
The Aether Converter allows Aether to be combined into larger sizes or split into smaller ones. Converting Aether requires Macca.
Aether Crystal
Aether Crystals are a special item that can be used in place of regular Aether materials when performing an Awakening. They can be purchased in the Shop for 500 Gems
Obtaining
The main source of Aether is the Strange Signal quest series. The available Aether types rotate throughout the week, while some special events may also reward Aether-related materials.
