The Japanese Self-Defense Force general. He came into contact with demons through the Terminal system. It was thus that he learned of God's plan for the Millennium Kingdom, spurring his rebellion.

After Gotou's death, Ozawa took over Gotou's territory in Shinjuku by defeating the local yakuza.

Visionaries
Gotou is featured in two Visionary cutscenes in the Game Boy Advance and iOS versions of the game.
In "SDF Unit Pin", Gotou relieves the JSDF Chief of Staff of their command by force.
In "Megaphone", Gotou makes a speech to the coup forces about his ideals.
Gotou's soul can be found within the Makai's Chesed Temple as one of the many individuals being granted salvation by Vairocana. He still regrets that all of his hard work toward his dream was shattered by two youths.[1]
Gotou appears as a rare Guardian.
In Chapter 3, "Gotou" is the password required to access the Ring of Gaea headquarters.[2] Inside their base, there is a statue dedicated to Gotou, honoring his work to spread the word of Gaea and his opposition to ambassador Thorman.[3][4]
