This article is about the Demon. For the party member Persona, see Artemis (Persona).

Artemis is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Artemis is the Greek goddess of hunting and chastity, as well as a personification of the moon. She is the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and the twin sister to Apollo who are both renowned hunters with bows.

Her Roman equivalent in Diana.

Design

Artemis's design from Kyūyaku Megami Tensei appears to be based on the statue formerly located at the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus. The design used in Shin Megami Tensei: Nine, which is a recolor of Diana's design from Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, is reminiscent of this statue as well.

In Shin Megami Tensei V, Artemis appears as a young golden-skinned huntress with short blonde hair and green eyes. She wears a white dress with a blue cape and silver shoulder pads, and silver boots that have stars on her ankles, with her right boot having a thigh-high covering beneath it, along with fingerless gloves and a belt. On her head, she wears a headband with a star motif on either side with an accessory of a crescent moon sticking out of the top. Her right wrist contains a retractable crossbow, and this same arm has an arm bracelet.
