Erebus is a character in Persona 3 FES: The Answer and Episode Aigis.
Profile
Origin
Erebus is the Greek personification of darkness, son of Chaos, and the husband of Nyx in Greek creation cosmogony. Together with Nyx, they created Aether, the personification of the bright sky, and Hemera, the personification of day. Depending on the interpretation, Erebus also created Thanatos, Hypnos and Moros.
Design
Erebus appears as a horrifying combination of the male and female form joined together at the hip without a face. Red glowing orbs act as its eyes as darkness pours from its body.

Game Appearances
Persona 3 FES
Erebus is the collective human thoughts of death and despair. Erebus making contact with Nyx resulted in The Fall, which could bring about the end of all life. In Persona 3: The Answer, S.E.E.S. learns the protagonist used his life's essence to create the Great Seal. When Erebus appears attempting to break the Great Seal, Fuuka realizes it is not a shadow, but the mass of all of humanity's desire for death. The Great Seal prevents Erebus from contacting Nyx, which would result in The Fall and the end of the world.
Although S.E.E.S. defeats Erebus, they realize it cannot truly be destroyed until the heart of every person stops wishing for death. Together, they vow to keep moving forward and hopefully change society to ease the protagonist's burden.
