The game is split into Story Mode and Free Dance. In Story Mode, the player progresses through the eight chapter plot of ''Dancing All Night''. By completing the story, the player can unlock new tracks for Free Dance. In Free Dance, the player starts with 4 dance tracks and can unlock more by successfully playing through tracks and clearing Story Mode, for a total of 27. More tracks and dancers can be obtained through the game's DLC. By completing all of the Free Dance songs at least once, the player can unlock a prologue that shows how the [[Investigation Team]] got involved in the Love Meets Bonds Fest. From the main menu, the player can shop for items to use in Free Dance at Tanaka's Shop and browse through their collection.
