Shadow Teddie is a character in Persona series. It is the Shadow version of Teddie.

Profile

Shadow Teddie is the Shadow of Teddie which was born from his own repressed thoughts after hearing Rise Kujikawa say that there is no "real self". Shadow Teddie is a larger version of Teddie with yellow eyes. After Teddie tells it to shut up, it turns into a larger form with black cracks on its face that show nothing on the inside. The cracks do not show his face falling off, but rather indicate that he is being sucked inward by an empty void until nothing is left.

After hearing Rise say that there is no "real self" in Marukyu Striptease, a combination of Teddie's own repressed thoughts and meddling from an unknown being give birth to Shadow Teddie. Shadow Teddie spells it out for Teddie: He is empty and part of him knows this, but he remains in denial. Before his Shadow can reveal what Teddie really is, Teddie tells it to shut up. Shadow Teddie criticizes the rest of the Investigation Team for pursuing the truth and attacks them, saying it will teach them one truth: that they will all die here.

Once his Shadow has been defeated, Teddie admits to his Shadow that he does not understand who he is, but he knows that he is alive and he exists. Thanks to the protagonist and the others, Teddie comes to understand that he does not have to figure this out on his own. As the Investigation Team continues to search the TV World, Yukiko is sure they will discover something about Teddie too. After this, Shadow Teddie transforms into Kintoki-Douji and becomes a Persona that Teddie can use.

In December, Teddie reveals to the Investigation Team that he is a Shadow. This is likely what Shadow Teddie was about to say before Teddie told him to shut up. Naoto Shirogane reasons that despite Teddie being a Shadow, he has developed an ego and become similar to humans.
