Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance

This section is in need of research.
Reason: This information comes from the Japanese SMT5V guide book. Not sure if their typing can be tested versus the game. The DLC navi info is also not available in the guide book.

In addition to the original 6 Navigators, Vengeance adds 11 more Navigators, bringing the total number to 17. The new Navigators are Mermaid, Ippon-Datara, Agathion, Pixie, Muu Shuwuu, Sukuna-Hikona, Alice, Amabie, Nahobeeho, Bugs and Cironnup. Free DLC released on November 4, 2024 added Mara, Idun, Mothman, Fionn mac Cumhaill, Hell Biker, and Cleopatra who were the top 6 from a Twitter poll.

When using Search Points, the quest navigator can encounter a demon or uncover an item. There are also fixed navigator spots that glow red and will have Magatsu Rails. Each navigator has a type which determines the pool of items they can find in each area. Furthermore, each has their own tendencies. For example, Amabie and Jack-o'-Lantern are both macca types who can find relics and small quantities of macca, but Amabie finds items more frequently while Jack tends to run into enemy demons more often.

Trivia

  • In August of 2024, Atlus began a poll on Twitter where users in Japan and overseas could vote by tweeting with a hashtag to add new navigators to the game from a preselected list of 31 choices.[1] On September 13th, Atlus announced that the top 6 from the poll (Mara, Idun, Mothman, Fionn mac Cumhaill, Hell Biker, and Cleopatra) would be added in a future update. 7th through 10th were Mephisto, Cerberus, Jack Frost and Yoshitsune. Japan's top 3 were Mara, Idun, and Mothman, and the overseas top 3 were Mothman, Idun, and Fionn.[2]
