Junpei, often described as the class clown, is an outgoing and kind individual with a desire to be be recognized and be a hero. Due to his upbringing, Junpei rarely shows his friends or acquaintances his true feelings, such as his jealousy and inferiority complex to the team. Despite this, Junpei can be a very generous person and will apologize when he has done something wrong. Like most teenage boys at his school, Junpei jokes about getting with girls or other perverse activities, but is rarely seen even speaking to girls outside of his dormmates.
Junpei has a lanky stature, sports a goatee, and is rarely seen without his baseball cap. His hair is buzzed short, which is typical for baseball players, even though he isn't on the baseball team. Junpei is associated with the color dark blue, which is the color of his hat and the dress shirt he wears under his school uniform instead of the standard white shirt. In Persona 3 Reload, he wears his school jacket around his waist when using his new battle attire. In Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Junpei wears a sky blue colored uniform during the P-1 Climax.
