Profile
Origin
- Main section: Izanagi § Origin
Izanagi-no-Okami is a matured form of the Persona 4 protagonist's Izanagi.
Design
When designing Izanagi-no-Okami, Shigenori Soejima wanted to make a more tough-looking version of Izanagi. To achieve this, he added the longer, pointy edges on the design. While Izanagi wore a boys' school uniform and reflected the protagonist's youth, Izanagi-no-Okami wears a business tie to signify that he has grown up.[1]

Trivia
- In Persona 4, Izanagi-no-Okami is created in New Game Plus via a 12 way fusion between Izanagi, Sandman, Nata Taishi, Girimehkala, Norn, Okuninushi, Orthrus, Kartikeya, Mithra, Tzitzimitl, Cu Chulainn, and Legion. In Japanese, the first character of each Personas name spells out イザナギノオオカミツクレ which translates to "Make Izanagi-no-Okami".
- In Persona 5, Izanagi-no-Okami is created from a 6 way fusion between Yamata-no-Orochi, Throne, Inugami, Raja Naga, Barong, and Norn, and the Picaro version is created from a 6 way fusion between Okuninushi, Orthrus, Kali, Mithras, Cu Chulainn, and Lucifer. In Japanese, the first character of each Personas name spells out ヤソイナバノオオカミクレ which translates to "Make Yasoinaba-no-Okami" with Yasoinaba being the central area in Inaba where Persona 4 takes place.
- In both Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden, Izanagi cannot be registered to the compendium and must be fused every time the player starts a new save file.
- Unlike in later games, in Persona 4 a Persona's lore entry can only be viewed when in the Velvet Room. Since Izanagi-no-Okami cannot be registered to the compendium, it has no visible lore entry.
- Despite this, the Persona does have a lore entry inside of the game's text files. It is identical to the entry in Persona 4 Golden.
