Gameplay

In Persona 4, the protagonist can go to his part-time job by interacting with the front door at the Dojima Residence.
In Golden, he can ride a bus from the Central Shopping District.

The protagonist can optionally work at the hospital at night, unlocking the Devil Social Link with Sayoko Uehara. Through her Social Link, the protagonist also meets Hisano Kuroda and can establish the Death Social Link. After Naoto Shirogane joins the Investigation Team, the entire group gets a health checkup at the hospital on October 7th and discovers that Teddie's body does not show anything on an x-ray.

Throughout November and into the beginning of December, the hospital becomes a major story location. After Ryotaro Dojima's car accident with Taro Namatame, he becomes a patient at the hospital. When the Investigation Team rescues Nanako Dojima and apprehends Namatame, both Nanako and Namatame are checked into the hospital as it is the largest hospital in the area.[1] The protagonist and his friends can visit Nanako at the hospital starting on November 21st. Throughout these visits, Nanako is quite frail, and Dojima thanks the group for coming.
On December 3rd, Nanako's condition takes a turn for the worst and Tohru Adachi calls the protagonist and asks him to come to the hospital immediately. Nanako shortly flatlines, and Dojima, knowing that Namatame has been checked in to the same hospital, heads off in the direction of his room. While Adachi takes Dojima back to his room, the Investigation Team hears a noise in Namatame's room, and they go inside. Naoto and Yosuke think about using the large screen TV in his room to get revenge for Nanako, but the protagonist is able to stop his friends by getting them to calm down. They return to Nanako's hospital room, where she makes a miraculous recovery. They return the following day and question Namatame, as they are now beginning to doubt that Namatame is the murderer. As they leave his room, other officers mention something about Namatame being prepared for transfer.
On December 5th, the team realizes that Adachi might be the murderer, and they return to the hospital to question him after hearing that he is there to oversee Namatame's transfer. The protagonist questions Adachi until he brings up Namatame's diary, and Naoto remembers something Adachi said back in November that bothers her which she accuses him with. Adachi has no refute for Naoto's accusations. He runs away to Namatame's hospital room and enters the TV World through the large screen TV.

Persona 4 Golden
If the protagonist has reached rank 6 with Adachi, then the next two ranks of Adachi's Jester Social Link take place in the hospital. During rank 7, the protagonist tells Dojima that they have rescued Nanako. During rank 8, Adachi is concerned after the Investigation Team meets with Namatame. Both times, the protagonist assumes Adachi is concerned about him, and the Social Link advances automatically.
