Metis is an Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon of the same model as Aigis, appearing before her and the rest of the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad on March 31, 2010, as the Abyss of Time opens. Metis cares deeply for Aigis, referring to her almost exclusively as "sister" and frequently mentioning that she will protect her at any cost. However, as Metis has not experienced life as her sister has, she is far less socially aware, leading to a blunt, straightforward demeanor and child-like meltdowns.
In regards to appearance, Metis looks similar to her sister, though there are some differences. Metis' exterior is mainly dark, with a skirt-like ornament around her waist. There are gold complements on Metis' head and upper skirt. Additionally, Metis has a red mask resembling a butterfly, which she flips down to cover her face during combat. The material comprising the mask is also present on her skirt, and on an accessory attached to the glove on her right hand. Metis has pale skin, red eyes, and dark hair.
Metis' Persona, Psyche learns both physical and magic skills, alongside some support and status skills. Additionally, Psyche has no elemental weaknesses. Metis wields hammers and axes in battle, allowing her to deal Strike damage with her regular attacks.
Metis possesses Neo Orgia Mode, which is available from the Tactics menu. It is an improved version of Aigis' Orgia Mode, which she can no longer access after awakening to a human consciousness. Neo Orgia Mode, when activated, can do everything Orgia Mode can do with the addition of being able to use skills at no cost, alongside lasting longer than Aigis' Orgia Mode.

Metis's name comes from the Greek μῆτῐς mē̂tis, meaning "wisdom" or "skill." This is also the name of a nymph in Greek mythology who was one of Zeus's wives and mother of Athena.
