2022 Re-release

On March 17, 2022, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax was released to PC, Nintendo Switch and PS4 worldwide and later received rollback netcode on August 5th of the same year. The 2022 Re-release is based off of the 2.0 Arcade version of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, originally only available in Japan. This version includes all the DLC from the console version and features many small changes to the entire cast and the game's system mechanics but most notably overhauls how "Shadow Type" characters work; Shadow characters can now:

  • Use Burst.
  • Use Shadow Frenzy at less than 100 SP.
    • Additionally, opponents can no longer use Defensive Burst during Shadow Frenzy.
  • Shadows can no longer carry over SP between rounds.
