Hecatoncheires is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

In Greek mythology, the Hecatoncheires (Ἑκατόγχειρες Hekatónkheires, literally 'Hundred-Handers') were a trio of gigantic creatures with a hundred arms and fifty heads each. These beings, named Cottus, Gyges, and Briareus, were the offspring of Uranus (Sky) and Gaia (Earth), as well as siblings to the twelve Titans and three Cyclopes. Fearing their monstrous appearance and immense power, Uranus imprisoned the three Hecatoncheires in Tartarus, the depths of the earth. During the Titanomachy, the ten-year war between the Titans and the Olympian gods, the Hecatoncheires were released from Tartarus by Cronus, who sought their help against the Olympians. The Hecatoncheires were cast back into Tartarus once the war concluded, where they became guards for the fallen Titans.
