Marie is a mysterious girl the protagonist meets when he first arrives in Inaba. She does not remember the first time they meet, but he begins seeing her more once he starts visiting the [[Velvet Room]] where she takes up residence. Marie goes back and forth between being appreciative and abrasive to the protagonist. One moment she might be thanking him for taking her to eat steak skewers, while the next moment she calls him a stupid jerk. As it turns out, Marie has no memories. The protagonist can take her around Inaba, introducing her to his [[Investigation Team|friends]], trying to help her remember something about herself, and make her own new memories. Marie is also known to write poetry that reflects her mental state. Periodically, the protagonist will find one of Marie's poems on the floor of the limousine. After the protagonist finishes reading it, Marie will rush in and take it back, embarrassed.

If the player pursues the true ending after completing the Hollow Forest, Marie will be in the Velvet Room when the protagonist receives the [[Orb of Sight]] from Igor. Marie remembers that she was born long ago as an unconscious wish shared between human hearts. Her role was to protect humans, walk amongst them, and listen to the desires of the human world. But as humans began averting their eyes from the truth, Marie was split into two halves: One who wanted to protect humans, and one who wanted to fulfill human desires. Due to human desires never ceasing, that half became more powerful and Marie was left powerless and without memories named Kusumi-no-Okami.
When facing [[Izanami-no-Okami]], Marie will appear in the Social Link power up scene. She tells the protagonist that people do not want a world full of fog, and encourages him to stand up once more and make everyone's real wish come true. After defeating Izanami-no-Okami, the protagonist sees a vision of Marie in the Velvet Room. She explains that herself / Kusumi-no-Okami, Izanami-no-Okami, Kunino-sagiri, and Ameno-sagiri all used to be one being named Izanami-no-Mikoto. Marie is a character in Persona 4 Golden. She is one of Igor's Velvet Room assistants, together with Margaret.

Profile

Marie is a mysterious girl the protagonist meets when he first arrives in Inaba. She does not remember the first time they meet, but he begins seeing her more once he starts visiting the Velvet Room where she takes up residence. Marie goes back and forth between being appreciative and abrasive to the protagonist. One moment she might be thanking him for taking her to eat steak skewers, while the next moment she calls him a stupid jerk. As it turns out, Marie has no memories. The protagonist can take her around Inaba, introducing her to his friends, trying to help her remember something about herself, and make her own new memories.
