Origin

The Chimera (Ancient Greek: Χῐ́μαιρᾰ, romanized: Chímaira) is a creature from ancient Greek culture stated to live in Lycia in Asia Minor. It breathes fire and has the form of a lion with a goat's head sprouting from its back and a snake's head at the end of its tail. Its name derives from the Ancient Greek χῐ́μαιρᾰ chímaira, "she-goat".
