During development of Shin Megami Tensei, he was called Yoshio among the game's staff.[1] He also has this name in the short comic within the Shin Megami Tensei Law & Chaos Disc booklet. In the short stories included in Shin Megami Tensei Character Profile: Steven Report, he was given the name Yuji.
