Origin

Vidofnir[a] is a rooster that sits atop the tree Mímameiðr according to the Fjölsvinnsmál. Laevateinn is the only weapon that can kill him.

Because Mímameiðr is a possible Heiti for Yggdrasil, Vidofnir is often assumed to be Veðrfölnir, the rooster which sits at the brow of an eagle at the top of the world tree.

Kaneko Kazuma Dennō Akuma Zukan 世界樹ユグドラシルの枝にとまっている光り輝く雄鶏。自らの光で世界中を照らし、ときの声で神々を眠りから起こす。なお、ヴィゾフニルを殺すためには火の魔剣レヴァンテインが必要だという。
