The Karma Temple, known as the Church of the Arbiters of Karma in Quantum Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner, is an organization in the Digital Devil Saga series.

Profile

The Karma Temple is the authority of the Junkyard, overseeing the war between the Tribes and issuing commandments that the Junkyard's denizens are compelled to follow. They are also responsible for the distribution of equipment and supplies. The Macca required for these is also distributed by the Temple as a reward for good performance in combat, which is tracked in the combatant's Tag Ring.

Communication between the Temple and the Tribes is carried out by the Dissemination Machine. It is located in Sahasrara, the sole neutral territory of the Junkyard in which all combat is forbidden, as enforced by the Temple Guards. The room in which the Dissemination Machine is located is only accessible to Tribe leaders.

The Karma Temple contacts the Tribes after the Embryon defeat Harley, summoning all leaders to Sahasrara for an undisclosed purpose. There, the Dissemination Machine contradictorily states that there are no pertinent issues to address, at which point Angel hijacks it, revealing themselves to be the one who actually summoned them. Angel informs the leaders of Atma and a new requirement for access to Nirvana: the Tribe that stands alone must also bring Sera with them. However, once Serph asks Angel who Sera is, she has an outburst and disappears in a bright light. Following this, the Dissemination Machine, having returned to its usual behavior, informs the leaders that it acknowledges the existence of demons and Atma.

Some time after this, Varin Omega returns to the Temple and talks with Angel. He claims to know who himself and they really are and asks to be let out of the Junkyard. Angel then says that, if Varin really is Colonel Beck as he says, he should know that it was through his own orders that the Junkyard was sealed. Angel still decides to help him, though, giving him the Hunger Wave ability.

After the Embryon win the war of the Junkyard, Sera leaves them to climb the Temple by herself. She, as the Cyber Shaman, controls the Temple Guards and many demons for the purpose of keeping the Embryon out, though the Embryon manage to catch up to her anyway.
