Guns[a] are a recurring equipment type in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Gameplay
Guns are ranged weapons typically associated with the gunfire attribute by default; however, some guns may utilize attributes such as fire instead. In some titles, equipping a gun serves as a secondary form of basic attack which changes attributes based on the properties of the equipped gun. These properties can include the attack's elemental attribute, number of hits, status infliction, accuracy, range, and critical hit ratio. These properties make guns more versatile than the average sword. Some titles also allow the equipper to further modify the attributes of their gun's attack by equipping specialized ammunition. Gun damage is typically influenced by the stats strength or dexterity, but in some instances can also be independent of the equipper's stats and calculate damage solely based on the equipment's attributes.
