Swords[a] are a recurring equipment type in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Gameplay
Swords are melee weapons typically associated with the Sword or Physical attribute by default; however, some swords may utilize attributes such as fire or spear instead. While called swords, items of the Sword category may not necessarily be swords in the literal sense, and other types of weapons such as daggers, spears, axes, and chainsaws are counted as Swords. Swords are equipped alongside Guns, and both can be used to attack enemies in different situations.
