As a human, the Nahobino wears a sailor style Jouin High School uniform: dark blue with white lilies across the blazer and pants that he wears in a very formal manner. He often carries a black satchel with white straps to school, in which he keeps a copy of the Man'yōshū that he is shown reading in his spare time, and his most defining physical trait is his uneven fringe. When fused with Aogami, his body is covered in a body suit made of black metal, with stylized white metal swirls lining the right side of his body and lines of blue energy running down the left. His fingers are composed of the same blue energy and when flattened together summon a long blade of blue energy. His feet have a thin platform at the center of each foot resembling ice skates. Around his neck is a blue gorget that protects everything except his face, which is unchanged from his human form, and his hair is a vibrant blue and extends down to his ankles while retaining his fringe. His eyes glow golden, which is a trait shared with all Nahobino.

As a human, he is shown to be introverted and uncertain. Though he tries to make an effort to follow rules he isn't particularly strict in this regard, as shown when he attempts to follow the buddy system put in place after the recent murders and chooses to return to the dormitories alone when he is unsuccessful. He is also easily influenced and someone that often helps others, either happily or begrudgingly depending on the choices of the player. He is an inattentive student, shown day dreaming and losing focus in class, and doesn't engage much with his fellow classmates though he also isn't disliked by them either, having an amicable relationship with Miyazu Atsuta prior to the start of the game. However, he is also shown to be fearful and fainthearted when confronted with uncertainty, collapsing to the ground when first entering Da'at and nervously hugging his arm prior to the Pandemonic Summit, and is shown to be distrustful or even afraid of Bethel through his dialog choices. In spite of this, he still continues to face the dangers and fight as a Nahobino.

His behavior changes completely upon fusing with Aogami. As a Nahobino, he is decisive and fearless, unfazed when his life is threatened and battle ready at a moment's notice. As with Aogami, he becomes fairly inexpressive and rarely shows any emotion. He selflessly protects others at the risk of his own safety, intercepting a fatal attack from Lahmu to protect Tao Isonokami, though ultimately failing to save her. His compassion is also evident, as shown in the moment where Sahori Itsukishima regains control to give him the chance to kill both her and Lahmu, he chooses to comfort her with a hug as he drives his blade through her. His resolve and desire to help others earns him the admiration of Fionn mac Cumhaill, who follows him regardless of alignment.

With the exception of Lahmu, he is difficult to catch off guard, anticipating incoming attacks from the Hydra, Fionn mac Cumhaill, and other Nahobino. When in battle, he often summons a blade from his right hand, though it is shown that he can summon it from both hands at the same time. His fighting style is graceful and controlled with many attacks demonstrating both his power and control over the battlefield, and though he doesn't seem to derive any satisfaction from fighting, he is nevertheless enthusiastic while in battle and does not hold back.

Nomenclature

The Nahobino is named after figures in Japanese mythology from the Kojiki. These origins also compliment the origins of Magatsuhi Skills. After Izanagi returns from Yomi, he bathes to rid himself of the impurities accumulated in Yomi. The impurities from his body turn into two gods, Yasomagatsuhi-no-kami and Ōmagatsuhi-no-kami. The two are associated with misfortune, calamity, disaster, and ruin.[1][2] Three more gods were then created to correct the misfortune and disaster caused by the two: Kamunaobinokami, Ōnaobinokami, and Izunome.[3][4][5]
