Marduk is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Profile
Origin
Marduk was the head god of the Babylonians. He displaced the earlier Mesopotamian deity Enlil as king of the gods during the rise of the Babylonian Empire. In the creation epic the Enūma Eliš, Marduk becomes king of the gods after killing Tiamat. He splits Tiamat's body into two, and the two halves become heaven and earth. After this, Marduk wishes for humanity to be created, and the first humans are created from Kingu's blood and bones.
Marduk was commonly known by the title Bēl, meaning "lord" and cognate to the Northwest Semitic title Baal.

Marduk was the original ruler of the world.[1] Prior to the events of the story, he defeated the primordial goddess Tiamat and created the Throne of Creation.[2] By placing a curse on the Throne banning snake gods from being able to utilize its powers, he established a world of order where the Horned Gods would perpetually remain in power.[1][3]

Yoshio Nishino lived in Hatsudai Shelter until it was destroyed by Murmur the Fallen and the followers of Bael. His wife and son were killed in this incident and left Nishino wounded deeply. He is given the choice to remain or not in the shelter as the poison gas consumes the place, if Ayato Katsuragi decides to stay Nishino will go to the surface with Emi Kirishima and Tatsuya Hayasaka although he will leave these two upon reaching the Resistance Base, and as he travels through Tokyo he is killed, but later Nishino later is revived by Marduk himself, who accepts to be his bunrei and meets Sanshiro Soma at a unknown place, however Nishino was killed in Gokokuji Temple by Astarte the Tyrant, he tells Katsuragi this upon meeting Sanshiro Soma at Akihabara Metro Station Building.
Shortly after this Nishino is given the option to revive again, but by fusing himself with Marduk to become one, fusing soul and mind, but heart will remain the same.
He then wanders through Tokyo and finds Yaesu's children living all by themselves, he sets up a barrier to protect the place from demons and lives happily with them, however once Katsuragi arrives so does Yamase, who after a chat summons Lamashtu the Femme but Marduk kills Yamase the moment he summons the demon.

One of the kids that lead the children, Eita comes and asks what happened to Marduk, Katsuragi can or not tell the truth to them, but regardless Eita realizes that he's only sealed, that there might be a way to break the seal of the Labis Sigil and free Marduk. After this Katsuragi leaves the place.
