Sector Horologium is a location in Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. It is the final sector of the Schwarzwelt, which is engulfed in magma and resembles the core of the Earth.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux

In Redux, after the Protagonist defeats Mem Aleph, or before he can enter her room if he is on the Chaos route, he is attacked by Alex for a final time, this time succeeding in killing her and leaving her vague mission ultimately unknown to him.

If the Protagonist completed the Womb of Grief, however, Alex and George will explain the dire situation the world's future faces because of the Protagonist's actions, which changes depending on the route, and attempts to persuade him, and also his partner if he is on the Law or Chaos routes, to help her change the future. If the Protagonist refuses, Alex becomes enraged and summons Amon and Shaytan, then absorbing the Fruit she obtained from Amon to empower herself and Amon, and dashes at the Protagonist's group in a desperate bid to change the future. The Protagonist ultimately prevails over them however, leaving Alex to lament her failure as she dies. After her death, Demeter appears and is saddened to see the Fruit Alex used became rotten and disappears, disappointed she could not use the Fruits for her plan. The story then proceeds as normal.

If the Protagonist agrees to help Alex change the future however, which also convinces his partner to have a change of heart as well if on the Law or Chaos routes, Alex will fade away as the timeline renders her existence impossible, though she is ultimately satisfied at having succeeded in her mission. This choice shifts the Protagonist onto a New alignment route, and if he is on the New Chaos route, he and Jimenez will be forced to defeat Mem Aleph, as she disagrees with their new ideals. After Mem Aleph's defeat, or after Alex fades away on the New Law and New Neutral routes, Demeter will appear and take the Fruits the Protagonist collected away. Louisa Ferre also appears after this, commenting on Demeter's deceit, and opens the way to the Empyrean Ascent so the Protagonist's group can confront Demeter's masters.

Nomenclature

Like the other sectors in the Schwarzwelt, Sector Horologium is named after a constellation, being Horologium.
