The Womb of Grief is a bonus dungeon added in Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. Completing it is necessary to obtain any of the new endings present in the remaster.

Gameplay

The Womb of Grief is an entirely optional dungeon, much like the Labyrinth of Amala in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax. It is divided into six Spheres amongst seven floors. Many of the demons found in the first three floors are equivalent to those found in Sector Antlia, Sector Bootes, and Sector Carina, alongside demons new to Redux such as Tsuchigumo. Demons of the UMA and Enigma races can be found via Enemy Search scans, alongside tougher opponents as the ability is upgraded, with rare chance of encountering the Fiends. To progress into further Spheres of the Womb of Grief, story-driven upgrades to the Protagonist's Demonica must be obtained.
