The Resistance is an organization in Shin Megami Tensei.
Profile
The Resistance is a group formed in opposition to both American Ambassador Thorman and Colonel Gotou's occupation of Tokyo, believing that leaving the city's fate in either of their hands will only result in its destruction. They are led by the Heroine, though because her appearance is unknown, Gotou's henchmen have simply been capturing any girl that shares her name in the hopes that it is her. Their hideout is in Shinjuku Underground.

Shin Megami Tensei
When the Hero's party reaches Shinjuku Underground Mall, they hear word of a resistance group fighting back against both the American military and Gotou's forces, and start looking for their leader. After speaking to one of the bartenders, who is secretly a member of the Resistance, he notices the Hero has the Demon Summoning Program, and so asks him a few questions to see if he is trustworthy, including if he believes it is okay to let demons run rampant, and if it is acceptable to use overwhelming power to restore peace. If the Hero answers correctly, the bartender gives him a Matchbook, which the Hero then shows to a guard on the mall's basement floor to enter the Resistance's hideout. There, they meet a Resistance member who at first refuses to allow them to meet their leader, though Resistance leader interjects and grants permission for them to meet her personally, revealing herself to be the Heroine, who has been waiting for the party ever since they rescued her in their dreams. She pleads for their help in stopping Gotou and Thorman before their actions lead to Tokyo's demise, to which Law Hero and Chaos Hero eagerly accept. Once the Hero accepts to help her, however, Yuriko appears and kidnaps the Heroine, leaving the entire Resistance in a frenzy to get her back. Discovering that Gotou has sentenced her to be publicly executed at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, the Hero's party rushes to save her, and once they have succeeded, the Heroine beckons them back to a bar in Shinjuku. As thanks for saving her, the Heroine reveals information gathered by the Resistance to them, including the whereabouts of Law Hero's Girlfriend and that the Resistance is planning a raid on Ozawa's hideout, causing Law Hero and Chaos Hero to leave the Hero to pursue his girlfriend and Ozawa, respectively. The Heroine joins the Hero in exchange to confront Gotou and the American Ambassador Thorman to save Tokyo.

Visionary
The Resistance is featured in one Visionary cutscene in the Game Boy Advance and iOS versions of the game.
In "Cloudy Shaker," which takes place when the Resistance has yet to be fully organized, the Heroine meets with a bartender working for the Resistance and offers her powers to the cause. The bartender recognizes her as being gifted in magic and prophecy, but is hesitant to accept her aid, as the Resistance does not yet have a leader, nor do they wish to put a girl's life in danger by accepting her into the organization. However, the Heroine urges him to believe her when she says something terrible is soon to happen, making the bartender suppose she could be the leader who brings the Resistance together.
