All over Japan, there are stories of how Daidarabocchi giants shaped the land. Oumitsunu is thought to be the roof of theses tales.

Oumitsunu appears in the Dark Sakuradayama of another world, guarding the Earth Prism. He challenges Raidou to test his resolve against his own, and upon defeat, acknowledges his strength and grants him the Prism.

Nomenclature

The name Omizunu (variant form: Omitsuno) has been hypothesized to derive from 水 mizu ("water"). Various kanji spellings have been used in historical texts, but they are all purely phonetic.

The form of the name used in Japanese installments of the Megami Tensei franchise, オオミツヌ Ōmitsunu with a long O, is non-standard.
