1976年に話題を呼んだ、直立二足歩行する謎の獣人。人間とサルの中間的特徴を示す。来日経験あり。

世界にオリバーくんの存在が発表されると、その正体について議論が起こり、サルとヒトの雑種であるなど、いろんな説が提唱された。

オリバーくんの染色体の数はサルより1本多い47本とされたが、これを調査した学者などは公表されなかった。

結局オリバーくんは、毛を刈られて訓練を受けたチンパンジーだったといわれる。

It was said that he had one less chromosome than a normal primate, but, in the end, he was determined to be a regular chimpanzee.
