Baal Berith, known as Belberith in Devil Survivor, is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

Baal Berith (meaning "lord of the covenant"),[a] according to the Book of Judges in the Bible, was a deity worshiped in the city of Shechem.

Design

Belberith's design from Devil Survivor is a large purple mass that features the head of Bael from Shin Megami Tensei II; a cat head, toad head, and spider legs, referencing Bael's design from Shin Megami Tensei; the head and torso of Belphegor from Shin Megami Tensei II; and the head of Baal from Shin Megami Tensei II. A new bald man's head is between the cat and toad heads that does not appear to reference any pre-existing design.

According to Kazuma Kaneko Works IX, the presence of parts of other demon's designs is because Belberith has absorbed those demons.[1]
