Quest

Quests or Missions are a recurring mechanic in the Megami Tensei franchise. Quests are objectives issued to the protagonist or party to complete. Often there are two types of Quests: Main Quests, which are tied to a game's main storyline and are usually required to complete in order to advance; and Side Quests (also referred to as Extra Missions,Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey

), which are optional objectives separate from the main storyline as extra content. Quests often give rewards for their completion, such as Experience Points, money, useable items, equipment, or unlocked access to certain Demons or Fusions.

Overview

Early Megami Tensei games lacked a dedicated means of tracking Main and Side Quest progress. Beginning with Persona 3 however, quest systems designed to track Quest objectives and developments were introduced in most games thereafter. These systems help to clarify the Quest's name, current objective, and rewards.

Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2

Dx2 has an assortment of Missions available that can be completed for useable items, Macca, Magnetite, Gems, Demons, or achievement Titles. Limited-time events typically introduce additional Missions that can only be completed during the event period. Prior to the version 7.0 release, the game used to also offer Daily and Weekly Missions for repeating rewards that would refresh after their respective period of time.
