Midnight Shadow Radio was a web radio talk show that promoted Persona 4 The Animation and later Persona 4 The Golden Animation.
Overview
The radio show was created to promote Persona 4 The Animation. It was broadcast every Thursday from October 6, 2011 to April 5, 2012 on Onsen Radio and Hibiki Radio. The show was co-hosted by Showtaro Morikubo (Yosuke Hanamura) and Tomokazu Seki (Kanji Tatsumi). A compilation was later released as a set of three CDs that included bonus episodes with different guests.
The show returned during the airing of Persona 4 The Golden Animation under the name Midnight Shadow Radio The Golden. It was broadcast every Thursday from July 3 to October 16, 2014 on Onsen Radio and Hibiki Radio. The show had two pairs of hosts which took turns hosting. Content
Each episode had various segments:
- Listener's Corner: Standard letters and other submissions from listeners
- Investigation Team: Listeners submitted things they found strange or puzzling and the host would try to investigate
- Max That Social Link: Listeners submitted weird experiences they had and the hosts would rank them as Rank 0, Rank 5, or Rank Max
- Everyone's Everyday Junes: Listeners submitted their own versions of the Junes jingle with the lyrics being things they like and enjoy
- Next Time on Persona Forecast: Preview for the next episode of Persona 4 The Animation in the form of a weather forecast, such as forecasting that "There is a 60% chance that Yu Narukami will talk more than he does in the game"
