"Slaying The Dragon of the Lake" is a Challenge Quest in Shin Megami Tensei IV.

Overview

This quest becomes available at K's Tavern after receiving the Main Quest "Capture the Black Samurai".

While the quest is active, the dragon Long will be present at Lake Mikado. Flynn is asked if he is here to slay it, and if he responds with Yes, a battle against Long begins.

Following Long's defeat, it asks Flynn whether he sees dragons as enemies to be slain or as sacred spirits. This choice has the following effect on Flynn's Alignment:

Prompt: "What do you see us dragons as?"

Regardless of Flynn's choice, Long leaves afterward in recognition that it has been defeated, and the quest is completed.
