"Phantom of Madness" is a Challenge Quest in Shin Megami Tensei IV.

Overview

This quest is available from the Hunter Association in Shinjuku after completing "Corpse Disposal". On the Neutral route, it must be completed as part of "The Great Spirit of Hope", but on all other routes, it is optional.

The objective for this quest is to slay four Insane Hordes, which appear in the eastern portion of Shinjuku while the quest is active.

After defeating the first Insane Horde, Burroughs marks the locations of the remaining three on the world map.

After defeating the last Insane Horde, a demon, introducing itself as Fury Chernobog, appears as reinforcements. After defeating it, the quest is completed.
