Devil Children Black Book and Red Book
At the beginning of Black Book, Setsuna Kai hears a voice from the Devil Riser who calls him a Messiah.[1] The Demonary description of his demon partner also mentions the Cerberus have long since served as partners to Messiahs.[2]
Throughout the course of the game, the protagonists of both Black Book and Red Book collect a set of magical items called Messiah Horns and Messiah Eyes, respectively. The Horns and Eyes are used to activate gates scattered throughout both Earth and the Expanse that allow for teleportation to different realms of the Expanse.
Inside the game's files, there are multiple lines of dialogue remaining from what is likely an earlier draft of the game's script. In one of those lines, Setsuna recalls memories of a past life and wonders if he is a Messiah[3]. His brother, Nagahisa Kai, is also called the "white Messiah."[4][5] There is also a line that indicates the player has acquired an item called "Messiah Song."[6]
