The protagonist is a normal high-school student living in Tokyo with his parents. He grew up together with his older cousin Naoya, who lost his parents at a young age and moved in with the protagonist's family. He is childhood friends with Yuzu Tanikawa and the best friend and classmate of Atsuro Kihara.
The protagonist has neck-length blue hair and blue eyes. He is wearing a mid-length sleeved black sweater, bright red pants with a clip-on suspender hanging down on his right side, black sneakers with red laces, and white cat-ear headphones with a black metal frame. He has an MP3-player with a red cord hooked onto his collar.
Which stat the Protagonist gains on level up is decided by the player. The first time a Bel is defeated in a save the protagonist will absorb the demon's powers, gaining a permanent increase to one of his stats.
