Jobs are a mechanic that appears in the Last Bible series.

Overview

In Last Bible Special, when recruiting party members from Rhazes Plaza or Zosimos Plaza, they will first appear as their initial job. Jobs influence a character's stats, equipment, and magic. Party members can change into new jobs through various means to grow stronger.

For a full list of jobs, see Jobs in Last Bible Special.

Upon reaching a certain level or through the use of certain items, a party member can change jobs at Constance Cathedral. After changing jobs, they will retain all of their old magic, but their HP, MP, and stats will be halved (rounded down) and their level reset to 1. If a reduced stat is lower than the initial stats of the new job, it will be increased to the base value. Each job has restrictions on what kinds of equipment it is allowed to use, and items will be unequipped if the new job can no longer use it.

Recruitment

When recruiting allies, certain jobs are rarer or more likely than others. It is also possible for no one to respond at all. When recruited rather than promoted, the ally will also have certain pieces of equipment already in hand based on their initial job. The initial job of the ally that appears is based on a weighted value which influences the likelihood of it appearing:[1]

Job Items

Certain jobs require the use of an item in order to be available for job changes. These items are single-use, meaning that in a single playthrough, some jobs can only ever be used once.

Item Job Obtain Method
Iatro Stone Sage Defeat Hohenheim
Sorcerer's Stone Magus Defeat Nigredo
Book of Prophecy Prophet Deliver the Book of Anima, Book of Pneuma, and Book of Corpus to Trismegi in Jerusalem.

Experience

Each job earns levels at a different rate based on their experience type. While there is no theoretical maximum level, the amount of experience required to level up will eventually surpass the maximum experience limit. The growth rate of each type is described as so:

Type A Type B Type C Type D
Rate Fast, then slow Medium, then fast Medium Slow
Maximum Level 195 201 201 195
Exp to Lv. 10 592 1,651 1,767 1,932
Exp to Lv. 100 1,357,809 567,036 861,912 1,357,752

Trivia

  • In Last Bible Special, it is possible to use job change items to turn a Beast into that job; however, since it cannot gain experience, it will be stuck at level 1.
