Cancer is a Demon in the Megami Tensei franchise.

Profile

Origin

In a Greek myth, a crab attacked Heracles while he was battling the Lernaean Hydra. It was crushed by Heracles' foot and turned into the constellation Cancer (lit. "crab") by Hera.

This event is known to have been described in Panyassis's lost work Heracleia.

Design

It shares the same sprite as Ketam being a blue/teal crab in Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei, and a green crab in the Kyūyaku Megami Tensei remake. In the Game Boy version of Last Bible, Shinyaku Last Bible and Shinyaku Last Bible II: Hajimari no Fukuin it is a yellow crab with a green shell resembling a Christmas tree. Although, in Shinyaku Last Bible III: Mugen no Eiyū it has a pink flower on top and has a different face. In the Game Gear Version it is a pink and purple mass. In Last Bible III it is a red crab and shares the same sprite as Ketam.
