Buer is a spirit in European demonology first attested as Gemer, the 13th spirit in the Livre des esperitz, where he is said to be a great king who teaches the power of herbs and all sciences, and he can cure and cause illnesses. He has 40 legions under his command.[1]
Buer is elaborated upon the 7th spirit in Johann Weyer's Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, which draws from earlier sources. Buer is a great president who teaches philosophy (both practical and ethical), logic, and the powers of herbs. He can also heal the sick, gives the best of familiars, and has 50 legions under his command.[2]
In the Ars Goetia section of The Lesser Key of Solomon, which is heavily based on the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, Buer is said to be the 10th spirit summoned by King Solomon of Israel.[3]
In Shin Megami Tensei if..., Buer is depicted as a head with a star pendant around its neck and surrounded by a red, star-shaped mane and five goat legs. The head has bluish-green skin, pointed ears, and black eyes with white irises, and the legs are colored identically to the head.
In Majin Tensei II: Spiral Nemesis, Buer is depicted as a mass of black hair with no facial features aside from a large mouth with yellowed lips, and five goat legs surrounding it.
