Steam
Steam is a digital video game distribution service created by Valve Corporation and was initially released on September 12, 2003. It began as a service to distribute Valve's first-party titles, but quickly expanded to be the leading third-party distribution service on PC. Half Life 2 was the first game to be digitally released on the service in November 2004[1] and third-party developers were contracted to release games on the service in 2005.[2]
On February 22, 2022 Valve launched the Steam Deck as a way to play PC games on the go. It comes bundled with Valve's own SteamOS, but is designed to be customizable and is able to run any operating system. Games released on Steam are tested on the console by Valve staff; if a game meets minimum performance specifications it is marked as "Verified", meaning it can be played on the console with little to no major issues.
The first game that Atlus released on Steam was Catherine Classic on January 10, 2019. Since then, many Shin Megami Tensei games have been released on the service as well. In addition, the company G-Mode has released several mobile Megami Tensei games under the G-Mode Archives+ branding. The G-Mode Archives+ releases can be bought and played with any account, regardless of region, but the games themselves are only available with the original Japanese language.
