Profile

Origin

Stolas (also known as Stolos, Stoppas and Solas) is the 36th spirit said to have been summoned by Solomon in the Ars Goetia section of The Lesser Key of Solomon", Stolas is "a Great Prince of Hell, commands twenty-six legions of demons. He teaches astronomy and is knowledgeable about herbs, plants, and precious stones. He is often depicted as a raven or a crowned owl with long legs." [1]

Design

Stolas' design in Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner is very similar to the one featured in Jacques Auguste Simon Collin de Plancy's Dictionnaire Infernal.

Stolas resembles an owl, with a small beak, long wings, and blue and black feathers throughout its body. He has long legs, red eyes and a golden crown, which references his status as a prince of hell.

A prince of hell who is one of the 72 demons of King Solomon. He sometimes takes on the form of a man.
Stolas's appearance is somewhat uncertain; he may be a thrush, a raven, an owl, or something else, but it is agreed that he has the form of a bird. It is said his claws are silver and the areas around his eyes are red.
His strong points are astrology, the magical uses of gemstones, and plants such as medicinal herbs, and it is said if one summons him and asks a question, he will speak truthfully.
